Looking for the best places to see the Christmas lights in London in 2021-2022? Kew Gardens is the place to be!
Kew Gardens Christmas lights return to town and are more spectacular than ever with over one million twinkling lights.
This year’s trail features fantastic brand-new light installations with vibrant bursts of colour.
Some of the highlights are:
- 1 – A series of stunning projections across the historic Palm House and adjacent lake accompanied by much-loved Christmas classics.
- 2 – Light display at Kew’s iconic Temperate House, the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse.
- 3 – Aurora, an ambitious installation that illuminates the night sky for over 200 metres overhead, replicating the enchanting visual phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis.
- 4 – Spheric, a fifteen-metre-wide dome of light covered in over 2,000 individually controlled LED pixels.
- 5 – The Christmas Cathedral, featuring thousands of fairy lights.
- 6 – The Neon Night Garden, a burst of vivid colours.
- 7 – Singing neon trees, sprawling branches illuminated with stars and seasonal festive projections.
Christmas at Kew is beyond magical and fascinating.
It’s a celebration of nature by night and a unique experience enchanting children and adults alike, like no other.
It’ll leave you completely in awe. Don’t miss it!

- Kew Garden Christmas Lights 2021 is open from 4pm to 10pm (last entry at 8:20pm).
- Tickets cost: Off-peak £21.50 / Peak £26.50 + £2 admin fee.
- Dress appropriately as it can get very cold.
