Travel with Style NYC
I really don’t know when I started my interest in fashion, maybe when I started buying my own clothes or even before that, during my visits to my mother’s boutique.
As I grew up I ended up working in the fashion industry, first as a model and secondly as a clerk.
But it was only during the four years that I lived in NYC that my fashion style and taste got even more refined.
New York City has one of the most vibrant and thrilling fashion scenes in the world. If walking down the streets of the Big Apple makes you feel like you’re in a movie, as Ryan Adams said, the people who live there definitely contribute to it.
I’m not just saying that people get well dressed daily, but also I’m saying that they have the freedom and authenticity to wear whatever they want without worrying about what others think.
Because in the end of the day, New Yorkers know that if they put something kinky or even inappropriate on no one would probably notice. Actually, they would notice, but they will just think out loud: “Okay.”
New York City Style
The men’s style in NYC goes beyond the basic jeans and shirt. I loved to see the multitude of colours for trousers each season and guys wearing funny socks and bowties on a daily basis.
It was in New York that I dared to wear colourful pants (I now have over 10 different colours of trousers), and where denim became ho-hum for me. In NYC I fell in love with shirts, jackets, blazers and leather shoes.
My Selection
To compose this look I selected a dark blue shirt and one of my favourite pants, a dark green one. Even though those two colours are deep, they go very well together.

To make a charming contrast and an elegant look I paired those two pieces with a grey summer jacket, brown leather shoes and my beloved blue sunglasses.

So, the next time you visit the city that never sleeps, don’t be shy about dressing the way you like and don’t worry about what people will think because you are in New York City!
